Something from nothing? No chance and chance isn’t a being.

Has there ever been a time when nothing ever existed? If there was then nothing is all there can be now; for how can something become out of nothing? Self-creation is illogical.

There has always been something and the something must be intelligible because all there is to observe that exists contains order. Order requires design. Design requires intelligence.

God is that something that always existed, exists and will forever continue to exist. We know that He also creates for His own purposes and glory because He has given us communication from His being in His own creation displaying the order of what can be seen and in our own human history (the God of the Jews first than the Gentiles) through his chosen vessels via mighty acts of supernatural power, inspired/written words and in His only Son’s incarnation who displayed the authority to command the creation to obey Him; walking on the water or calming the winds, etc.

It is not illogical to think that we can know God exists from observing things that contain order. Nor is it illogical to think we can understand words that come from God. For the historical account is our witness, the author who penned the book of Genesis, Moses, saw and spoke with our Maker. When Moses writes, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27 ESV) we know these words came from God to Moses and so we know that we are made in God’s image. What is His image? For the purpose of this blog it’s sufficient to say that the word image, in the context of Creator over the created, is equal to likeness in certain qualities. Intelligibility is one attribute we could derive from this that God has given to mankind that God firstly possessed. Intelligible creatures can understand words from their Maker, especially if the Maker gave them the ability to!

Read on in Genesis and it’s not to long before man is deceived by his own desire to disobey the Maker bringing death upon himself and all to follow, but that not without help and hope.

We his creatures should worship Him always, never deny Him. Yet we do deny Him and He, in His love, has provided a way of restoration for our denial.

We brought death upon ourselves in our denial of Him, He brings resurrection from death in the work of His only Son Jesus Christ of whom, in the garden, God promised would would one day come through the seed of the woman and who has come 2000 + years ago! (“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.” (Genesis 3:15 NASB)

Faith in the Son of God only, in this valley of the shadow of death, conquers all fear and is able to bring love, joy and peace in the face of all adversity; even welling up into eternal life and in the end resulting in our absolute restoration with the Maker.

BY SECOND ADAM & THE NEW CREATIONS

I’m an adopted son of the Maker of all things via the finished work of Christ, a husband to my beautiful wife Rachel, and a father to my two awesome children Abram & Caleb. I’m also in the process of building this project called Second Adam and the New Creations which has a dual function, to bring theological songs as well a sound doctrinal literature. I seek to glorify God in expounding His Word in all truth and Holy wisdom by writing songs of weighty, theological themes in both simple and complex moods. I have a growing desire to write and teach and this blog serves as a good place to do just that. All truth meets at the top in Christ, what a joy it is to grow and learn in the Lord!
